152 - Serial Number 981
September 13th 2004 I received an email from Yves Ouimet and he informed me he had a Jiger 152 that he began restoring, but he would be interested to sell. He sent me some pictures and it seemed this Jiger was in really good shape. We agreed on a price, but he lived in northern Quebec. This is a long way from Winnipeg. I later secured transport from Toronto to Winnipeg thanks to Bison Transport. I had to travel to Iroquois Ontario on business which is halfway between Toronto and Montreal. Yves agreed to meet me half way and my route home was complete. Thanks so much Yves and Sylvie for all your help, thanks to the folks at the Macintosh Inn for storing my Jiger, thanks Dodge for making a Caravan that fits a Jiger within millimetres, and thanks Don Streuber at Bison Transport for the safe and timely transport to Winnipeg. I unpacked most of the parts and this thing is in good shape. There were a number of parts that were already cleaned and painted making my job just a little easier. The previous owner was very meticulous in cleaning and painting the parts. It's motivating to get to work on the rest of it. But there are alot of parts left to work on. These ones will be packed up and stored.
Fortunately the untouched parts are in really good shape. The engine looks a little rough but it moves freely and seems to have good compression. The hope is that the engine will run with minimal work. Finding parts for this old JLO L152 could prove very difficult.
